Pramod Bhatta

Pramod Bhatta got his MA in sociology from Tribhuvan University in 2000 for which he also received the Mahendra Bidhya Bhushan award for the highest national aggregate score in Sociology. He received an MEd in education and development from Hiroshima University in 2003 and a PhD in regional cooperation policy studies (focusing on education and development) from Kobe University in 2007. He has published widely on education in Nepal, especially school education. He is the editor of two books – Education in Nepal: Problems, Reforms and Social Change (2009) and Participation in Higher Education: Social Dimensions of Inequality (2011; in Nepali). For several years until late 2023, he taught MA/MPhil and PhD students in the Central Department of Sociology of Tribhuvan University.
