This project is funded by the Ford Foundation, South Asia Regional Office.
On the appropriate model for embarking on to achieve Universal Connectivity (UC) one may, for instance, explore the feasibility of a hybrid-technology, mixed-ownership and collaborative partnerships for a diverse country like Nepal, instead of the existing euphoric rush to allegedly state-of-the-art, single-type, singly-driven, monolithic architecture connectivity.

The quality of the present Internet connectivity is at the bottom end of the international standard and global averages. The user experience of the IT infrastructure on the ground is fraught with problems of feeble household Internet adoption and poor quality of service.

Martin Chautari’s work on media encompasses all five aspects of the institution’s work domains. These include research on media in Nepal, mentoring of young researchers, and publication of books on various aspects of the Nepali media and an annual journal Media Adhyayan.

Martin Chautari's Educational Research Wing was established in 2008 with two major objectives.
