Fieldnotes from Home: Reflecting on Doing Anthropological Fieldwork in Kathmandu
Dipti Sherchan, PhD Candidate, Department of Anthropology, University of Illinois, Chicago
Abstract:
In this sharing session, I will be reflecting on my fieldwork based in Kathmandu while engaging with the questions of theory, methods, and practice in the discipline of anthropology. In my dissertation, I explore the emergent cultural politics of a durable institutional space as well as individual artistic experimentations that have become central to defining the contours of modern and contemporary Nepali art.
