Gender and feminism have become common terms in academia, international development sector and general public discourse. Yet, what do we mean by ‘gender’ and ‘feminism’? How do we conduct gender and feminist research? Is focus on women enough to qualify research or advocacy efforts as feminist? How do we address diversity, power relations and conundrum of intersectionality? What are the theoretical, methodological and practical challenges in doing gender/feminist research and advocacy? Our speakers will focus on these questions drawing upon their personal reflections and long-term professional experiences of working on gender issues.
